Ben Hoare
Ben is a bestselling children’s writer who still can’t quite believe that being a nature nerd is actually what he does for a living. After working at BBC Wildlife Magazine for 10 years, where he went in search of everything from leafcutter ants to whale sharks, Ben became a full-time author. His many books include An Anthology of Intriguing Animals (DK), which has sold over 250,000 copies and been translated into 20 languages.
In 2025 he won the Children’s Wainwright Prize for Non-fiction with his book Secrets of Bees (Nosy Crow). His latest book is Shapes of Nature (DK). His top tip? Never be sick in your snorkel!
Ben's walking workshops take place on Saturday and Sunday.
