Ben Short is a charcoal burner, working woodman and author. His memoir Burn documents his rejection of a London career and a turning towards a different life and purpose, working the woods of Anglia and the West Country.

 

Currently, Ben is writing a collection of short fiction based loosely on memories and characters drawn from his rural Hampshire childhood of the late 1970s and early 1980s.

 

When not in the woods – or writing at his kitchen table - he enjoys rowing on Lyme Bay.
